Our research focus lie in the area of algorithm, VLSI architecture, and systel-level co-design of embedded signal processing systems, with current concentrations on the wireless communications, next-generation networks, Internet of Things (IoT), and high-performance routing and switching. Specifically, we apply multidisciplinary and cross-layer approaches to the design and optimization of signal and information processing systems.

The main research direction can be outlined as follows:

  • FPGA based design of switching devices for 5G networks
  • FPGA based design and implementation for Cryptocurrencies
  • Embedded system and MPSOC system designs for IoT applications.
  • Algorithms and architectures for ultra reliable Time Sensitivity Networks
  • Algorithms and architectures of neural networks

Chung-An Shen received the B.Sc. degree from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech), Taipei, Taiwan in 2000, the M.Sc. degree from the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Irvine in 2012. He joined the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at NTUST in 2012, where he is currently an Associate Professor. Dr. Shen's research interests are in low-power digital circuits and embedded systems for wireless communication and multimedia systems. Before joining Taiwan Tech., Dr. Shen also held several industry positions including Texas Instruments Asia, Mindspeed Technologies in Irvine, CA, USA, and Qualcomm Inc. in San Diego, CA, USA.
